Bomag is a global manufacturer of road construction and soil- and asphalt-compaction equipment. Bomag is a part of the Fayat Group and is headquartered globally in Boppard, Germany, and in the United States in Kewanee, Illinois. The Fayat Group employees roughly 19,000 people, claims 152 independent subsidiaries, and has a presence in 120 countries.

Bomag’s history traces to 1916 with the formation of the Buffalo Springfield Road Roller Company, which Koehring purchased in 1956. Through various acquisitions, Bomag ultimately became part of an operation in 1990 called Compaction America, which SPX Corporation acquired in 2001 and renamed to Bomag Americas in 2003. The Fayat Group acquired Bomag in 2005.

In addition to equipment for road and heavy dam construction, Bomag produces products for horticulture, landscaping, landfill, and recycling purposes. Bomag’s construction equipment covers light compaction equipment (tampers, walk-behind rollers, single-direction vibratory plates, etc.), asphalt products (Cedarapids paving equipment, pneumatic rollers, material transfer vehicles, etc.), and soil-compaction products (single-drum vibratory rollers, soil compactors). Bomag also produces refuse compactors for sanitary landfill management and cold milling machines, RS recyclers, and stabilizers/recyclers.
