Kinze Extends Range Of True Speed Planters, Upgrades Blue Vantage Planter Control Display

Posted On: Tuesday, February 23, 2021

A high-speed version of Kinze’s 4905 planter will debut this spring for corn and soybeans, offering farmers the ability to plant twice as many acres per day, the company says. Other planters for cotton, sugar beet, and milo producers will become available with True Speed technology for the 2022 model year. Kinze also plans to upgrade its Blue Vantage planter display with new features.

“Farmers who had the opportunity to preview or test our high-speed technology this season were highly impressed with its ability to maximize performance in a single pass,” says Kinze President Susanne Veatch. “With an improving farm economy, many farmers are now ready to make investments to improve their productivity. Having sold out of our high-speed planter lineup for this season, we are excited to expand our True Speed offerings to make the benefits available to more farmers in 2022.”

    True Speed Models

The new Kinze 4905 True Speed planter can plant corn and soybeans at 3 to 12 mph (4.8 to 19.3 km/h) with precise spacing and singulation. It features a quick changeover procedure to accommodate different types of seed. The 4905 True Speed will initially be available this spring in 16- and 24-row models.

A 12R30 version of the 4905 True Speed will appear among Kinze’s new equipment for 2022. All 4905 planters will also be upgraded to hold more fertilizer at that time.

Another new True Speed model for the 2022 season is the Kinze 3665 for soybean fields with lots of residue. Initially available in 16R30 and 31/32R15 split-row editions, the 15-inch (381-millimeter) 3665 will also be able to plant 30-in (762-mm) rows. Meanwhile, the 4705 high-flotation planter for narrow-width crops will be offered in 36R20 and 24R30 configurations for 2022.

Each of Kinze’s planters for 2022 will come with durability upgrades that will reduce their cost of ownership, according to the manufacturer. True Speed models will be able to use new seed discs for crops such as cotton, sugar beets, and milo.

    New Blue Vantage Features

Kinze’s Blue Vantage display, through which farmers can control their Kinze planters, will soon be upgraded to support up to four video cameras. Three of the cameras are optional, while the fourth will come standard to provide a rear-facing view during transport of the planter.

The Blue Vantage display will also allow two planters in the same field to share coverage mapping data indicating the areas that have been planted. The display will also become available for Kinze’s eight-row bulk fill planter model 3505.

“We’ve had great feedback from our customers about Blue Vantage, which is the industry’s easiest-to-use dedicated planter display,” says Veatch. “We’re pleased to offer these upgrades for 2022 to enhance the user experience and overall planting performance.”

Kinze dealers will begin taking orders for 2022 True Speed models and the new and improved Blue Vantage display on April 5, 2021.
