The Massey Ferguson MF 7S Series of mixed-farming, arable, and contracting tractors has a new flagship in the 210-horsepower (156-kilowatt) MF 7S.210. Boasting a neo-retro design with a visibility-enhancing “wasp-waisted bonnet” and cutaways allowing for maximum manoeuvrability, the MF 7S.210 is built on a 2.88-metre (9.4-foot) wheelbase on which sits an AGCO Power 6.6-litre six-cylinder engine. Built-in Engine Power Management (EPM) automatically bumps engine output to 220 HP (164 kW) at 1,500 rpm and torque from 860 newton-metres (634 pounds-foot) for all applications to 925 N-m (682 lbf-ft) for transport, PTO work, and high-hydraulic requirements.

“Massey Ferguson strives to provide customers with exactly the right size, power, and specifications to suit their requirements,” says Thierry Lhotte, Massey Ferguson vice president and managing director for Europe and Middle East. “Now, in the 200-HP bracket, we offer the choice of the compact but powerful MF 7S.210 or the larger-frame, heavy-duty MF 8S Series. At the same time, a choice of Efficient or Exclusive specifications help users to tailor the tractor to their specific needs.”

    Taking Control

The MF 7S.210 joins a 7S Series that includes tractors ranging from 155 to 190 HP (115 to 141 kW). The new flagship includes the Dyna-VT ECO continuously variable transmission and has a top speed of 40 km/h (25 mph) at 1,500 rpm. A new available Automatic mode lets the tractor set an ideal engine speed based on load and ground speed, which operators can control with a foot pedal or the Multipad lever.

The Multipad lever and a control armrest are included as standard with the Efficient and Exclusive specification packages. The ISOBUS-compatible Multipad controller puts a linkage control rocker switch, cruise settings, driving mode presets, MF Guide activation, and micro joystick that operates two electric spool valves within easy reach. The tractor’s rear linkage has a 9,600-kilogram (21,164-pound) capacity, and the front linkage a 4,000-kg (8,818-lb) capacity.

    Cab Comfort

The MF 7S.210’s cab is several degrees cooler than those of previous models, thanks to a new air conditioning system. The cab also features a more comfortable air-suspended seat, a heated seat option, enhanced ventilation, and a Datatronic 5 terminal. The terminal features a brighter 9-inch touchscreen display, new homepage-located shortcuts, new MF E-Loader options that provide increased loading accuracy and a new Bucket Shake function. Datatronic 5 also provides ISOBUS connectivity and control of the MF Technologies Precision Farming suite.

The cab exterior sports a bonnet lightbar, and buyers can equip it with up to 16 LED work lights. There’s also an option to add a Visio Roof that provides loader visibility throughout the entire lift range. The tractor includes a suspended front axle, and Efficient models add mechanical cab suspension while Exclusive models provide an active mechanical system.
