Toro recently showed off its all-new Workman UTX series of utility vehicles, which offer a slew of intriguing features designed to help you get the job done. The Workman UTX can handle year-round hauling, towing, plowing, and other tasks for a wide variety of industries, including sports field and grounds maintenance, an area where Toro says the vehicle’s durability, versatility, and intelligence really shine.

“We’re excited to bring a four-wheel-drive vehicle to market specifically made for the crews maintaining sports fields, cities, parks, and schools,” says Toro Marketing Manager Noah Wahl. “This new, rugged utility vehicle doesn’t mess around. It’s designed to tackle snow and ice, tree maintenance, landscaping, event setup and teardown, trash, transportation of people, materials, and tools. Its versatility and durability are what truly makes it unique.”

    From The Ground Up

Toro says the Workman UTX is the first 4x4 built from the ground up specifically for demanding day-in, day-out work. Available in two- and four-seat configurations, the UTV has front and rear 5-centimetre (2-inch) hitch receivers, a 907-kilogram (2,000-pound) towing capacity, and 25% more cargo capacity than competing vehicles, Toro says. The Workman UTX also comes with a corrosion-resistant spray-in bed liner, and its integrated BOSS snowplough mount greatly simplifies preparing it for snow removal.

Another feature worth noting is the Workman UTX’s proprietary ground speed-control system. Where work vehicles are concerned, ground speed and rpms aren’t directly connected, and this handy feature lets operators limit machine speed without gutting the power. For example, an operator might need higher rpms for snow removal after a heavy snowfall, or may want to lower rpms to reduce fuel consumption and vehicle noise.

    The Workman UTX At Work

The road-friendly Workman UTX is available in gas or diesel power options and features a high-strength steel frame, selectable front and rear differentials, and push-button four-wheel drive. The vehicle has an all-weather cab with heating and air conditioning, and provides standard turn signals, a horn, LED headlights, and brake and hazard lights.
